Welcome to Batavia Middle School for the 2019-2020 School Year
MISSION STATEMENT of the DISTRICT: To inspire, educate, and prepare our students to achieve excellence and to become productive citizens in a global society.
BMS GOAL #1: BMS will provide middle grade students in our community with a safe learning environment that is built on positive relationships.
ACTION STEP 1: Create work groups (Student Recognition/PBIS, Staff Morale, Community Involvement, Educational Technology and TLC/Mental Health) that stackle the needs of our building as identified by staff through the MMGW proces. These committees will meet monthly to focus on how they can better the student, staff and community experience at BMS.
ACTION STEP 2: Administration will meet quarterly with a student committee to discuss student feedback. This committee will be comprised of members from all 3 grade levels.
BMS GOAL #2: BMS will collaboratively work to increase student achievement through data analysis, differentiated instruction and the implementation of short cycle assessments with a goal of scoring at or above 93 on the Performance Index Measure of the Ohio State Report Card.
ACTION STEP 1: Creation and implementation of common short cycle formative assessments in the area of Math and Language Arts with a minimum of 2 per quarter.
ACTION STEP 2: Quarterly data meetings will be held to review data and share best practices to provide intervention and enrichment based upon our students’ needs during AE and classroom instruction time. ACTION STEP 3: Professional Development will be provided through the Hamilton County Educational Service Center to support teachers in implementing action steps 2.1 and 2.2.
