Our goal is to provide your children with healthy, nutritious meals that they will enjoy. This year we have included many reduced fat and/or fat free food items. Our bread products include multi-grain buns and various other whole grain products. Fresh fruits and/or vegetables are offered daily. All meals are planned to meet the guidelines of the Child Nutrition Program of the US Department of Agriculture. We follow the Traditional Food Based planning option. Our meals provide 1/3 of the USDA recommended daily allowance of important minerals and vitamins
We use the “Meals Plus” point of sale system in our buildings. Students are welcome and encouraged to pre-pay for meals making one less thing for parents and students to have to remember on a daily basis. This also helps our lunch lines run faster and more efficiently. Elementary students will use their student ID cards that will be kept in their classrooms. Middle/High students will be asked to memorize their student ID numbers and use a key pad located at the registers. Please contact the Food Service Department if there are any health related concerns or allergies that we need to be aware of. Parents may request a detailed history of what their children are buying and eating by contacting: Kim Gregory, Food Service Director for Batavia Schools. We also offer on-line payments at www.lunchprepay.com where you may make payments and have the option of signing up for the service to be able to view daily meal purchases.
We look forward to serving the students and staff of the Batavia Local School District!
