Michael Enriquez

Originally from Cleveland, Mississippi, Michael moved to the Greater Cincinnati area in 1985 to begin his career with the U.S. Government Accountability Office. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Delta State University and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University. Additionally, he holds a Certified Business Analyst certificate from Capital University.
Michael currently serves as the Vendor Risk Management Officer for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati. He is in his sixth term as a Batavia School Board Member and is actively involved in the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA), where he serves on the Southwest District Executive Committee and the State Audit Committee. He is the current Southwest Region President and an OSBA Board of Directors Trustee.
In the Batavia community, Michael is a dedicated member of the Batavia Rotary Club, coordinating the Rotary Student of the Month recognition program and assisting with annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser. A past Rotary President, he has also served for many years on the Batavia Community Recreation League Board and continues to contribute as a soccer referee and mentor for new referees. Recently, he was appointed President of the Southern Ohio Soccer Officials Association and is certified by OHSAA and USSF to officiate boys’ and girls’ soccer.
Michael also served as an Advisory Council member for the Batavia Chapter of Business Professionals of America and as Vice Chair of Development for the Boy Scouts’ Dan Beard Council East Fork District.
Michael and his wife, Martha, a Milford native and retired Clermont County Health District Program Coordinator, have lived in Batavia Township for 32 years. Their two daughters, Olivia and Sophia, are Batavia High School graduates who have gone on to distinguished academic and professional careers. Olivia is an Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati-Blue Ash Campus in Allied Health, while Sophia is the Andrew W. Mellon Assistant Professor of Music at Duke University, with a secondary appointment in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies.

Doug Ginn

Doug Ginn began his first board term in 2024. He is a 1989 graduate of Bethel-Tate High School.
After high school, Doug attended Cincinnati Christian University. He earned his degree in Elementary Education and received his teaching licensure from Mount Saint Joseph University. He went on to obtain his Masters degree in Administration at Xavier University. Currently, he teaches Computer Science courses at Bethel-Tate High School.
Doug's wife, Donna, teaches Language Arts at Batavia Middle School. His daughter Emily is a 2024 graduate of Batavia High School and Live Oaks. She is currently a sophomore at Ohio University studying education. His son Kaden is a sophomore at Batavia High School. Kaden is active in the band as was Emily when she was in high school. Kaden is also a member of the bowling team and a member of the track team. One of Doug's favorite ways to be involved with his children and the school community is being "the voice" of the band as well as the football team and the track team.
Doug looks forward to working with the board to continue the good things happening in the Batavia school district.

Barb Bruner

Barb Bruner has lived in Batavia all of her life, graduating from Batavia High School in 1971.
After graduation, Barb attended the Cincinnati Christian University where she worked on her degree in Christian Education. In 1974 Barb worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland as a cash assorting clerk and tour guide for the bank.
In the summer of 1975, Barb began working for the Batavia Church of Christ as a Youth Director as well as working with the summer school age children who attended the child care that the Church operated. In addition, Barb drove a bus for Batavia and Williamsburg Local Schools for several years. Then in 1982 Barb took the position of Child Care Administrator for the center that was owned by the church. In 1990 when the church decided to no longer have a child care, Barb opened Batavia Heights Christian Child Care in Batavia and was a successful owner/administrator until her retirement in 2018.
Barb served on the Batavia Board of Education from 2000 until 2012. After a 7 year recess from the board she decided to run for the office again and began serving the children and families of this community again as a Board Member January 2018.
Along with serving on the Batavia Board, Barb has numerous affiliations which keep her involved in various areas of the community. She currently serves on the Batavia Alumni Association Board and is an active member of the Batavia Rotary Club. Barb currently serves as the Rotary Female Youth Exchange Counselor for incoming foreign exchange students. Barb is a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen Este where she co-teaches a 3 year old class on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. She also serves on the Board of the Nick Erdy Foundation and on the Clermont County Bar Association Grievance Committee.
In 2022 Barb enrolled in online classes at Indiana Wesleyan University. In April 2024 she graduated with an Associates of Science degree in Human Services. She is currently a mentor for Clermont County Juvenile Court working with troubled youth.
Barb's vision for Batavia Schools is that we will be the district that is known as a school that prepares the youth in our school community for a successful future in whatever career path they choose.

Kyle Nicolaus

Kyle grew up in Milford and is a graduate of Milford High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Landscape Architecture. He has worked in the landscape industry for over 30 years and owns a landscape design, build and maintenance business that does mostly residential work on the east side of Greater Cincinnati.
Kyle serves his community as a member of the Batavia Township Zoning Appeals Board and the Clermont County Chapter of the Ohio State Alumni Club. He is currently serving his second term on the Batavia School Board and is in his fourth year as Batavia’s representative on The Great Oaks Board of Directors.
He and his family moved to Batavia in June of 2000 and he has been married to his wife Lauri for almost 30 years. They have two daughters and a son that graduated from Batavia Schools and one granddaughter.

Michelle Eiland

Michelle Eiland brings a strong background in technology, leadership, and community engagement to her role on the school board. She currently serves as a Software Quality Assurance Manager at Western & Southern Financial Group, where she leads teams focused on innovation and quality in the IT space.
Michelle earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Ethics from Cincinnati Christian University and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is also a proud graduate of the African American Leadership Development Program (AALDP) and School Board School—two programs that deepened her understanding of educational systems, equity, and civic leadership.
As a proud parent of three children, Michelle is deeply invested in creating opportunities for all students to succeed. She is passionate about supporting families, advocating for teachers, and building strong school-community partnerships.
In addition to her professional and board service, Michelle is an active volunteer and community supporter. She serves on the board of Avon Miami Charities and is actively involved at River of Life Church, where she supports family and children’s ministries.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family, reading, journaling, cooking, and painting.
