Batavia Middle School is excited to announce the Batavia Middle School Theater Club presents SHREK Jr. Show dates are March 14 at 7 PM and March 16 at 2 PM. Tickets are $5!
This was a project initiated by four dedicated staff members: Mallory Brakvill, Heather Couch, Liz Garrison and Shyanne Harper. Their idea of starting a theater club in the Spring of 2023 was no small task, but after writing a grant and undergoing an interview process, these teachers were thrilled to learn that our middle school was selected to join The Children’s Theater’s Jump Start program. This partnership will allow them to execute their ideas and goals with the support of a renowned company.
Led by the Educational Theater Foundation, JumpStart Theater operates through a national network of regional theater company partners selected for their track record of success in running educational programs for children. Over the past few months, the Encore Theater Club has participated in various workshops and activities, including theater and acting, marketing, and comedy workshops. Shrek Jr. Students have been very busy with learning their lines, musical numbers, set design, and production basics! They are super excited to show the community what they have been working on!
